Rackets

The Rackets players enjoyed outstanding success at Charterhouse School last Thursday, dropping just 1 game out of 17 as all 5 pairs romped away with victories on a tricky away court.

Playing 1st Pair, Alex Hogben and Rory Todd (both Upper Eighth) won 3-0 (15/12, 15/9, 17/16), while 2nd Pair, Adam Zimmerman (Upper Eighth) and Hari Dattani (Lower Eighth), dropped just 17 points in their 3-0 win (15/1, 15/9, 15/7).

Playing two years above their age group, U-15 players Alexei Fletcher and Vivaan Sharma (both Fifth Form) won 3-1 (15/2, 16/18, 16/15, 15/3) in an enthralling encounter with hard-hitting Lower Eighth players. Meanwhile, cousins Aiden and Rayaan Ahmad (both Fifth Form) dropped just 12 points in their U-15A Pair match, winning 3-0 (15/1, 15/6, 15/5).

In the U-15B category, Rohaan Kapur and newcomer Hoafei Du (both Fifth Form) lost just 20 points in their first-ever match, winning 4-0 (15/1, 15/1, 15/11, 15/7).

Squash

Anish Dhar (Sixth Form) won the Middlesex junior Squash tournament at U17 level held at the Cumberland Club this weekend. Many congratulations Anish.

Football

On Wednesday 18 September, the 1st XI football squad started their 2024/25 ISFA Cup journey away against RGS, Guildford. The squad has been training before school since the start of term with an eye on the match so early in the term and have reaped the rewards of the early morning starts. ¿ìÉ«ÊÓƵ’s were victorious in the match, beating RGS 0-9 with debutant Oscar Suarez Carulla (Lower Eighth) scoring a hat-trick, including a very well executed direct free kick. What an impressive result! ¿ìÉ«ÊÓƵ’s look forward to welcoming two-time champions, Charterhouse, in weeks to come.

Climbing

Aditya Bhimalingam (Sixth Form) recently competed in the age 14-15 category in The Big Comp held at HarrowWall, London, which was held at national level.  137 boys and girls from all over the UK took part in this particular age range. Aditya came an excellent 2nd in his group. Having been awarded a medal, he qualified for the finals. Well done, Aditya.

Athletics

Over the weekend, the national finals of the English Schools Combined Events Championships took place in Stoke-on-Trent with Zac Lam (Fifth Form) competing in the junior boys’ pentathlon. Zac produced personal best performances in the hurdles and high jump, and was lying in 13th place out of the 44 entrants. This was before the competition had to be abandoned after four events due to a torrential thunderstorm. It marked the end of a highly impressive debut season for Zac. Sadly, Sol Inglis OP (2019-24) was unable to take up his place in the senior boys’ decathlon due to an ankle injury he suffered over the summer. Full results can be found .
