Masterclass Series – Introduction to Philosophy with Dr Phil Gaydon, ¿ìÉ«ÊÓƵ’s Teacher of Philosophy

The Masterclass Series for parents will consist of five, one hour sessions, taking place each week over a five week period. Places are limited due to the classroom nature of the series.

This friendly and discursive class will give you a brief introduction to the major questions and some of the most famous philosophers in the fields of ethics, aesthetics, metaphysics and epistemology. No prior study of the subject is required.

Dr Phil Gaydon – SPS Teacher of Philosophy and Head of Character Education

Dr Phil Gaydon teaches PSHE, Religious Studies and Philosophy at ¿ìÉ«ÊÓƵ’s School, and is the school’s Head of Character Education. Prior to this, he created and taught modules on the philosophy of sport, the imagination and the ethical development of children for the University of Warwick’s Institute for Advanced Teaching and Learning, he worked in primary and secondary schools around the country as a Philosophy Specialist for The Philosophy Foundation, and coached women’s American football at national and international level. He studied for his PhD at the University of Warwick, and his thesis focused on children’s literature and a virtue epistemology approach to education.
