Michael (Fifth Form) selected for Ukraine IMO team

After four gruelling tests and competing against the best mathematicians of school age in his country, Michael (Fifth Form) qualified to represent Ukraine at the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO).

In fact, he did slightly better than this – after the third test, he only had to solve one problem, out of four, to qualify, which he easily did. In order to achieve this while you are still in Year 10, you definitely need talent, but it is also true that I haven’t seen anyone work harder than Michael in mathematics. He truly deserves every bit of this success and we wish him the best of luck in the summer, when he and 5 other students shall compete for Ukraine in the most respected international competition in mathematics, also called the Olympics of Mathematics.
